Just Like Us’ Pride Groups programme supports secondary schools across the UK in running their existing equality, diversity or LGBT+ club.

The Pride Groups programme is a national network of lunchtime or after school clubs for LGBT+ young people and allies.

With the support of Just Like Us, schools can:

  • Empower student leaders to run groups and deliver sessions, by providing training for pupils and a student leader toolkit
  • Access CPD-accredited training and ongoing support for staff champions
  • Join a community of hundreds of school staff running a cub championing equality across the UK
  • Get brand new, ready-to-go resources every fortnight, exclusive to members of the Pride Groups programme
  • Ensure their Pride Group is a fun, exciting and safe place for LGBT+ and ally young people to meet, learn and get support.

Gill Entwistle, who runs a Pride Group at Bancrofts School in North East London said: “The resources are excellent and I genuinely don’t know what I’d do without them.

“I download everything and share it with my Sixth Formers so they can deliver [the sessions]. It’s made me feel relieved that someone else is doing the planning, happy and reassured that I know the resources will be high quality and pertinent to our students.

“I can be certain there will be fun, some crafting opportunities and that I will learn something new. The support has been excellent too, I always know I have someone to turn to if I have an LGBT+ related question!

“Why did we join? For the resources first and foremost, for the guidance offered, to feel connected as part of a network of people.

“Once we joined, we realised how much more there is on offer: a whole network of educators to meet, LGBT students for our students to connect with, CPD, and loads of support with any school event or assembly we might be running. And all of this for £99. A bargain!”
