Volunteer in London with Just Like Us, the LGBT+ young people’s charity.
We are looking for LGBT+ 18 to 25 year olds to volunteer with us on our Ambassador Programme.
By volunteering as an ambassador, you’ll make new LGBT+ London friends and learn new skills. You’ll also help inspire the next generation to be LGBT+ allies.

Volunteer in London
Just Like Us, the LGBT+ young people’s charity, is looking for volunteers from London to join our Ambassador Programme.
You’ll have the chance to speak in schools, workplaces and the media.
By speaking to pupils in schools across London about your experiences growing up LGBT+, you’ll help us tackle anti-LGBT+ bullying.
You’ll also show the next generation that being LGBT+ is something to be celebrated.
Arber is a Just Like Us ambassador. He explains why he decided to volunteer in London: “The only time I heard the word gay growing up was when I was told that being so was a straight ticket to hell. So I was afraid of being different.
“Just Like Us has helped me immensely. It has introduced me to fellow LGBT+ people who are so lovely and accepting.
“It has also allowed me to feel comfortable in being myself and opening up about my identity, and gives me a sense of pride in educating young people about the LGBT+ community.”
Lili also volunteers as a Just Like Us ambassador so that she could learn new skills.
She volunteered because she wanted to “be the ‘real life’ representation I would have needed back then”.
“I give school talks, interact with young people, help produce LGBTQ+ media, and let people know that being who you are is possible outside of fiction, and embracing who you are will lead to happiness,” she explained in Gay Times.
What does the Ambassador Programme involve?
Just Like Us’ Ambassador Programme is a unique LGBT volunteering opportunity. By volunteering your time as an ambassador, you will:
- Use your voice: Volunteer by speaking in schools, workplaces and the media
- Develop skills: Build skills through training, mentoring and workshops
- Find community: Be part of a network of LGBT+ young people across the UK
