For you, for me, for all of us

Who we are
Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. We work with thousands of primary and secondary schools every year, to help them become more LGBT+ inclusive places where everyone can thrive. We provide training, resources and support to help schools create a culture of respect and acceptance for all young people.
Just Like Us also works with young people to give them a voice. We provide opportunities for young people to share their experiences and to be the change LGBT+ young people need. We believe that young people are the experts on their own lives, and we want to empower them to make a difference.
Why we need your help
Our research shows that LGBT+ people who weren’t supported at school and home are half as likely to be happy in early adulthood and three times more likely to not be confident they’ll have a career they enjoy.
At school, we know that LGBT+ school pupils are twice as likely to have been bullied and 91% have heard negative language about being LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) in the past year.
The power of LGBT+ inclusive education is life-changing. Pupils whose schools provided positive messaging about being LGBT+ had reduced suicidal thoughts and feelings – regardless of whether they are LGBT+ or not.
