The Museum of London has created a free online masterclass on the history of the LGBT+ community in the capital for pupils aged 11 to 16, as part of Just Like Us' School Diversity Week celebrations.
School Diversity Week is happening 21-25 June and will see a range of free masterclasses taking place online, organised by Just Like Us, the LGBT+ young people’s charity.
Primary schools, secondary schools and colleges can sign up to take part in School Diversity Week, which is a celebration of LGBT+ equality and seeks to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people who right now are disproportionately struggling with mental health, tension at home and feeling less safe in school.
The Museum of London’s free online masterclass is titled ‘How has London's LGBT+ community used clothing to explore identity?’ and can be watched below.
Join the Museum of London on Monday 21 June at 12:30-13:05 for the premiere of their School Diversity Week masterclass.
The Museum of London documents the history of the UK's capital city from prehistoric to modern times. Martina (she/her) and Jen (they/them) will take you through history and discuss how London’s LGBT+ community has used clothing to explore identity.
The content and views expressed in these masterclasses are of the speaker(s) and do not necessarily represent those of charity Just Like Us.
