Erin Ekins presents online School Diversity Week masterclass on being LGBT+ and autistic

Erin Ekins has created a free online masterclass on what it means to be “queerly autistic and proud” for pupils aged 14 to 18, as part of Just Like Us’ School Diversity Week celebrations.

School Diversity Week is happening 21-25 June and will see a range of free masterclasses taking place online, organised by Just Like Us, the LGBT+ young people’s charity.

Primary schools, secondary schools and colleges can sign up to take part in School Diversity Week, which is a celebration of LGBT+ equality and seeks to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people who right now are disproportionately struggling with mental health, tension at home and feeling less safe in school.

Erin Ekins’ free online masterclass is titled ‘What does it mean to be queerly autistic and proud?’ and can be watched below.

Join Erin on Thursday 24 June at 12:30-13:20 for the premiere of her School Diversity Week masterclass.

Erink Ekins (she/her) is the author of 'Queerly Autistic: The Ultimate Guide for LGBTQIA+ Teens on the Spectrum', exploring what it’s like to be LGBT+ and autistic.

Watch the stream from Thursday 24 June at 12:30 on Facebook and YouTube.

The content and views expressed in these masterclasses are of the speaker(s) and do not necessarily represent those of charity Just Like Us.
