What is School Diversity Week?

School Diversity Week is the UK-wide celebration of LGBT+ equality in primary and secondary schools. It’s run by Just Like Us and you can sign up now to take part.

The ready-to-go resources provided by Just Like Us are entirely free so that teachers can easily start discussions about LGBT+ topics with their pupils.

For the first time this year, there are also specific resources for faith schools, SEND school, and resources in Welsh, so that all schools have access to LGBT+ inclusion.

More than 5,000 schools are signed up to take part and celebrate this 26-30 June.

Activities range from LGBT+ inclusive lessons, to storytime activities to assemblies and school talks from Just Like Us, to fundraisers with Rainbow Ribbons and a Rainbow Friday dress-up day.

The free resources cover EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 as well as all key subject areas – including posters, lesson plans, assemblies, form time activities and video resources.

This year, we are running a competition to reward the efforts of teachers who go above and beyond to support their LGBT+ pupils and bring LGBT+ inclusion to life in their schools with five prizes of £100 Amazon vouchers for the winning entries!

If you work in a primary or secondary school in the UK, you can sign up to take part in School Diversity Week. By signing up, you will receive access to our free educational resources.
