What is School Diversity Week?
School Diversity Week is the UK-wide celebration of LGBT+ equality in primary and secondary schools. It’s run by Just Like Us and you can sign up now to take part.
The ready-to-go resources provided by Just Like Us are entirely free so that teachers can easily start discussions about LGBT+ topics with their pupils.
For the first time this year, there is also a storytime series with children’s authors so that primary schools have more ways of celebrating. As a result, we’ve worked with authors such as Harry Woodgate to create video resources.
Thousands of schools are signed up to take part and celebrate this 20-24 June.
Activities range from LGBT+ inclusive lessons, storytime activities to assemblies and school talks from Just Like Us, fundraisers with Rainbow Ribbons and a Rainbow Friday dress-up day.
The free resources cover EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4 as well as all key subject areas – including posters, lesson plans, assemblies, form time activities and video resources.
If you work in a primary or secondary school in the UK, you can sign up to take part in School Diversity Week. By signing up, you will receive access to our free educational resources.
